Kilcar Parish Council

 

Kilcar parish is located between the parish of Killybegs and the parishes of Ardara and Glencolumbkille; a large part of the parish boundary is coastline and contains some beautiful and safe beaches

There are in excess of four hundred residential houses in the Kilcar parish with a approximate population of one thousand four hundred people. Kilcar parish council is an elected body (first elected 1960)  there are 20 members who are elected by the people of Kilcar, each council serves a three year term. Once elected the parish council selects its officer board from the elected members

The parish council looks after all matters which promote the parish, ranging from promoting Industry to Tourism through to cultural matters. It has a close working relationship with Udaras Na Gaeltachta, Roinn Na Gaeltachta, FAS Donegal County Council and many other agencies and works with all of them on a daily basis.
