Kilcar Parish Council can reveal that the Cullion /Bavan  area  in Kilcar which borders the Killybegs Parish has been selected as one of the sites where it is planned to build one of the new electricity generating systems combining large scale wind farm  with Hydro powered storage in valleys/ as outlined in the Spirit of Ireland Web page last week/ The plan which would result in the construction of a massive Dam  in the Cullion are of Kilcar with the storage of millions of gallons of sea water and the construction of a new power station in the Valley below is at a advanced stage and local landowners have been approached; The project which would results in  hundreds of jobs in the inmiotial stage  has surprised local  and  people and the local Parish Council are seeking a meeting where the exact details of the plans can be revealed |
